- 2 Cups Flour
- 1 Cup Sugar
- ¾ Cup Brown Sugar
- 2 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda

- 1 Cup Apple Sauce
- 1 15 oz Canned Pumpkin Puree
- 2 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 2 teaspoon Pumpkin Pie Spice
- ¼ teaspoon Salt

- 4 oz Cream Cheese Softened
- 2 TBP Butter Softened
- 2 tablespoon Maple Syrup
- 2 Cups Powder Sugar

Do I Have To Use Maple Syrup?
While you do not need to add the maple syrup to the frosting, it does give a depth and subtle hint of Fall flavor that compliments the bread overall. If you have maple syrup that is great, but if not the frosting will still be delicious without it.

No, the pumpkin bread does not need the frosting. The frosting is an added indulgence that makes this pumpkin bread feel more like a special treat, but the bread is amazing all on it's own, as well.
The Cozy Details
For step 1, you will want to gather all of your ingredients. Grease a loaf pan and preheat the over to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Step 2, in a large bowl add the pumpkin puree, apple sauce, sugar, brown sugar, and eggs. Mix together thoroughly.
Step 3 is adding in the baking soda and baking powder. Mix together well.
For step 4 you will add in the cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice and salt. Mix together and then add in the flour. Fold the flour in until there are no streaks of flour left.
Step 5, you will pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan about half up the pan. Bake for about 45-60 minutes. It is done when a toothpick comes out clean from the center of the loaf.
Allow to cool on a wire rack before frosting.

For the Frosting
In medium size bowl, combine the cream cheese and the butter. Using a mixer on medium high, mix together. Add in the powder sugar and maple syrup. Mix together until there are no more lumps.
Once the bread loaf is cool, frost the bread generously. You can add a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice to the top or just slice and enjoy! The pumpkin bread will last for about 4 days in an air tight container.
